British manager Paul Allen joins The Weird & The Wonderful | Music Business Worldwide


Experienced electronic artist manager Paul Allen is joining the The Weird & The Wonderful – the music management collective founded in 2014 by MMF UK board member Steven Braines and UK Music Future’s Sophia Kearney.

Allen brings with him both his colleague Lawrence Jones, and a roster including multi UK chart success Philip George plus underground talents Emanuel Satie, Alex Niggemann, Third Son, DJ Deeon and Kincaid.

This adds to a varied collective management roster at The Weird & The Wonderful, which also includes multi-award winning producer/DJ Maya Jane Coles, the platinum selling KDA, Catz n’Dogz and breakout folk act Chelou, amongst others.

Previous clients have included Tricky, Nadine Shah, and Tale of Us.

The Weird & The Wonderful now boasts manned offices in London, Ibiza, Berlin and Milan, as well as and the successful launch of new international event series He.She.They. – which focuses on bringing diversity and inclusion to the world’s dance floors and festivals.

Steven Braines said: “Paul has a great ear, a great work ethic and shares our collective values; Sophia and I have always enjoyed working on projects together with both Paul and Lawrence over the years so it felt like the logical next progression.”

Allen has over 20 years of experience within the music industry.

Having graduated from Trinity College Of Music in London in 1998, he began DJing on the London circuit, before taking a role within the A&R department at London Records working with Alfie Hollingsworth and Phil Faversham.

After two years in the role he was invited to join Anglo Management where he resided for 12 years, working across many successful artist careers, including that of Pete Tong.

Allen helped to develop and manage various club brands for Tong, including Wonderland, Le Grand Bazaar and All Gone Pete Tong.

In 2013, ready for a new challenge, together with two business partners he founded ALT Management, with a strong and diverse roster which included Philip George, Martin Buttrich, Emanuel Satie, Joe Goddard, 2 Bears, Blond:ish and Better Lost Than Stupid.

Allen will continue to consult for various independent and major record labels including Decca Records.Music Business Worldwide
