Sony/ATV promotes Lou Al-Chamaa and Nick Bral in company’s A&R team | Music Business Worldwide


Sony/ATV Music Publishing has promoted Lou Al-Chamaa to Vice President, A&R and Nick Bral to Director, A&R, both based in the company’s Los Angeles office.

Al-Chamaa’s signings include the Grammy-nominated Daniel Caesar and his production team Jordan Evans and Matthew Burnett, Tank God who co-wrote and co-produced Post Malone’s global No. 1 hit “Rockstar” and Ben Abraham who has worked with artists including Sara Bareilles and Kelly Clarkson, co-wrote Kesha’s Grammy-nominated hit “Praying” and is signed as an artist to Atlantic Records.

Al-Chamaa (pictured right) also signed artist Lucky Daye who is one of recently-launched RCA label Keep Cool’s first artists.

Among the other songwriters he works with are Mike Posner whose 2016 single “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” reached No. 1 in the U.K., was certified double platinum in more than 10 territories, including the U.S., U.K, Canada and Australia, and was nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards.

Al-Chamaa also works with Brett McLaughlin a.ka. Leland who was one of the main collaborators on Troye Sivan’s debut U.S. Top 10 album Blue Neighbourhood and co-wrote a number of songs on the Australian’s forthcoming album Bloom, including “My My My” and “Dance To It” featuring Ariana Grande. McLaughlin has additionally worked with artists including Selena Gomez, Kelsea Ballerini and Daya.

Prior to joining Sony/ATV in 2014 Al-Chamaa worked for RCA and Atlantic Records.


Nick Bral (pictured left) joined Sony/ATV in 2013 as an assistant in the Los Angeles A&R department after graduating from the University of Southern California (USC).

His signings at Sony/ATV include Mike Sabath who co-wrote and produced Liam Payne & J Balvin’s current Top 40 single “Familiar,” Dan Nigro whose songs have been cut by artists including Sky Ferreira and Carly Rae Jepsen, Andrew Maury who co-wrote two songs on Mondo Cozmo’s latest EP Your Motherf**ker and Kameron Alexander who contributed to Little Big Town’s Grammy-nominated and Billboard chart-topping album The Breaker.

Bral has also worked closely with Jesse St John who co-wrote recent singles by Andy Grammer and LAUV, while contributed to Camila Cabello’s debut solo album Camila, which topped the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S. in January and was a major hit around the world.

Other writers he works with include Jordan Palmer who has current singles with Aloe Blacc and Train, and Sam de Jong who co-produced the Noah Kahan single “Hurt Somebody.”

Al-Chamaa reports to Sony/ATV Co-President, U.S. Rick Krim and Bral reports to SVP, Co-Heads of West Coast A&R Jennifer Knoepfle and Amanda Berman-Hill.
