Pandora has named Heidi Anne-Noel to the new post of Senior Manager, Communications. She will oversee outreach to the music press and music industry. Anne-Noel comes to Pandora from Press Here. She previously served as VP of Publicity at Capitol Records.
• Digital ticketing service and event platform Eventbrite announced the acquisition of Picatic, a Vancouver-based ticketing, and event registration platform. Picatic, which was founded in 2008, bills itself as a crowdfunding platform for event ticket sales allowed promoters to create event pages to generate funding before events are booked. Picatic currently services clients in American, Canadian, European, Australian, United Kingdom, Swedish, Swiss and Danish markets.
• BSE Global and AEG Facilities have announced new general managers for New York’s Barclays Center and NYCB Live, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The internal promotions name Matthew Felker as the GM of Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Joe Zino as GM of NYCB Live on Long Island. Both promotions are effective Oct. 1.
• The Butler Institute of American Art has announced a new exhibition of paintings by John Mellencamp. The show, which has been titled “John Mellencamp: Expressionist” is the songwriter’s second exhibition with the Ohio-based art museum, which is known for exhibiting works by famous actors and musicians including Bob Dylan, Peter Falk, Tony Bennett, Jessica Lange, Ronnie Wood and Kim Novak.
John Mellencamp: Expressionist opens Sept. 20 and runs through Nov. 18. The exhibit will include portraits and mixed-media pieces. For more information visit, www.butlerart.com.
• Dolly Parton was honored with Leadership Tennessee’s first-ever Dolly Parton Excellence in Leadership Award on Saturday at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. According to The Associated Press, Leadership Tennessee officials said that Parton was given the award for her “selfless work to improve lives across Tennessee.”
Since 1995, Parton’s “Imagination Library,” which mails children free books from the time they are born until they begin school, independent of family income, has sent out more than 100 million books. More recently, her “Smoky Mountains Rise” telethon raised more than $12 million for victims of the Gatlinburg fires of 2016.
