Kanye West collaborator Noah Goldstein named SVP of A&R at Columbia Records | Music Business Worldwide

Noah Goldstein has been appointed Senior Vice President of A&R for Columbia Records.

The hiring of the Grammy-winning engineer/mixer/producer in an executive role represents one of the first major moves from Ron Perry, who took over as Chairman and CEO of Columbia in January.

In his A&R capacity, Goldstein will report to Ron Perry, Justin Eshak and Imran Majid, Co-Heads of A&R for the label.

“I’ve been following Noah’s work as a producer for years. He complements our A&R culture and brings an impeccable creative element to our team,” Perry stated.

“I’m excited to join Columbia and to continue pushing the boundaries of the way music is created and discovered,” said Goldstein.

For the past eight years Goldstein (pictured) has worked with Kanye West & G.O.O.D. Music as a producer, A&R representative, engineer and mixer.

Among the award-winning projects he’s worked on in the past decade are The Suburbs (Arcade Fire), Blonde (Frank Ocean), Hopelessness (Anohni), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Kanye West), Watch The Throne (Kanye West & Jay-Z), Yeezus (Kanye West), The Life Of Pablo (Kanye West), Daytona (Pusha T), Rodeo (Travis Scott), More Life (Drake), and others.

After graduating from Temple University in 2006 with a Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Mass Media Master’s degree, Goldstein worked at legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City, contributing to work by the likes of Patti Smith, Keith Richards, M.I.A., Nas, Mos Def, and Rihanna, among others.

He then became Kanye’ West’s official engineer in 2011, serving in a wide-ranging production capacity on multiple projects throughout his eight-year tenure with the hip-hop star.Music Business Worldwide
