Caroline partners with manager Justin Goldman to launch label JustGold | Music Business Worldwide

Universal Music’s artist services arm Caroline has partnered with young music manager Justin Goldman to launch a label, JustGold.

Caroline will distribute JustGold releases globally, starting with the debut single from the label’s first signing, London-based singer Millie Go Lightly (pictured).

Based in New York City, Goldman is a 20-year-old junior in the Bandier Program, named for the Sony/ATV Music Publishing Chairman and CEO Martin Bandier, at Syracuse University.

Over the course of his studies, Goldman has managed the careers of 10K Projects/Capitol’s Lil Gnar, and Republic Records’ Yung Gravy through his management company Pr1me Sound. He also co-manages upcoming artist Jasiah.

Prior to forming JustGold, Goldman held A&R internships at 300 Entertainment and Atlantic Records, as well as music magazine The FADER.

Jacqueline Saturn, General Manager Caroline/Harvest Records said: “I am proud to announce this new partnership with JustGold and Justin Goldman.

“Justin’s vision for the future and innate ability to find great artists shows him as a new force in the industry.”

“Justin brings his passion for music combined with just the right amount of New York City street smarts to this venture.

“His vision for the future and innate ability to find great artists shows him as a new force in the industry.

“His first artist Millie Go Lightly is already making waves and it is just the beginning. JustGold is a perfect fit for Caroline.”

Goldman said: “JustGold Recordings’ vision is that it’s more than a record label, because JustGold is a platform I use to trust my gut.

“I only care about hit songs, not the number of followers or numbers the music gets.

“A lot of labels spend too much time on unimportant marketing or publicity methods and forget to perfect the music first.”

“I’m excited to get going with people who know great music — Jacqueline Saturn, Matt Sawin, and the rest of the Caroline/Capitol team. Thanks for believing in me.”

Millie Go Lightly burst onto the scene in 2017 with two appearances on Young Thug‘s Top 10 album BEAUTIFUL THUGGER GIRLS.

Her debut single for JustGold will drop in September 2018, with an album to follow in October.
