Post Malone tops Drake’s streaming record | Music Business Worldwide

Post Malone has claimed the best streaming week of all time with his second album beerbongs & bentleys notching up over 288,000 streaming equivalent album sales (SEAs) last week.

The album, released on Republic, beat previous record holder Drake, whose More Life tallied 257k SEAs during its first week on sale last year.

Overall, beerbongs & bentleys sold over 461k equivalent album units to hit No.1 in the US.

It also topped the UK charts with 43k combined sales, and charted at No.1 in multiple markets worldwide.

Malone has 2018’s fastest selling album so far, beating J. Cole’s fifth album KOD, which hit the top of Billboard’s US charts on 397k at the end of April.

In addition, Malone’s debut Stoney has returned to both Billboard and BuzzAngle Music’s Top 10 at #9 — the first time an act has had two albums in the Top 10 since Linkin Park in August 2017.

On yesterday’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, three singles from beerbongs & bentleys appeared in the Top 10.

‘Psycho’ feat. Ty Dolla $ign moved up three places to return to its No.2 peak, ‘Better Now’ debuted at No.7 and ‘Rockstar’ feat. 21 Savage moved from No.32 to No.8.
