Kate Logan promoted to General Counsel, International at Warner Music Group | Music Business Worldwide

Kate Logan has been promoted to General Counsel, International at Warner Music Group.

She will be based at the company’s London offices in her new role, reporting to Paul Robinson, WMG Executive Vice President and General Counsel.

The move follows the departure of Chris Ancliff, who was General Counsel, International from 2009.

As a result of her promotion, Logan will be responsible for all of WMG’s legal and business affairs activities outside the U.S, working closely with the company’s recorded music and publishing affiliates throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

Logan was most recently SVP of Legal Affairs for WMG, a post she has held since 2013.

“Since joining us five years ago, Kate has done an exceptional job on multiple fronts – becoming a trusted advisor to our international legal & business affairs team and building a reputation in the industry as a talented executive with great energy and integrity,” said Paul Robinson.

“She brings wide-ranging global experience to her new position, combined with a terrific legal mind and impressive managerial expertise and organizational abilities. I’m very happy to announce her well-deserved promotion to this leadership role.”

Kate Logan said: “WMG is a very exciting place to be during this transformational time in the music industry. We’re finding innovative ways to expand global opportunities for our artists and songwriters, while growing our international footprint by entering fresh territories, opening up new licensing avenues, and pioneering digital initiatives.

“I want to thank Paul for this amazing new opportunity, and my wonderful colleagues for their support.”

Prior to joining WMG in 2013, Logan spent seven years at EMI Music, where she held various roles including SVP Legal Affairs. She was previously an associate at Allen & Overy, having begun her career at CMS Cameron McKenna.

Logan is a graduate of University of Nottingham and Nottingham Law School, and also holds an MA degree in Copyright Law from Kings College, London.Music Business Worldwide
