Vince Szydlowski named EVP, Commercial Sales for UMe | Music Business Worldwide


Capitol Music Group exec Vince Szydlowski has been appointed Executive Vice President of Commercial Sales for UMG’s catalog label Universal Music Enterprises (UMe).

In his new position, Szydlowski will oversee UMe’s commercial business, including the development and execution of its strategies in both the digital and physical space. 

He will work closely with all UMG labels and partners to maximize commercial opportunities for the major label’s catalog.

Szydlowski has been Senior Vice President of Label Sales for Capitol Music Group since mid-2014. 

At Capitol, he had an active hand in the planning and execution of the commercial success for artists such as Sam Smith, Katy Perry, Lil Yachty, Niall Horan and Beck.

Previously, Szydlowski was the Vice President of National Sales for Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD).

Across seven years in that position, he managed and developed national sales account teams representing Universal Music Group labels to accounts and partners, including Apple, Google, YouTube and Amazon. 

He also worked closely with label and vendor partners to establish promotional release campaigns, negotiate business terms and develop and execute business strategies.

Prior to joining UMG in 2004, Szydlowski was the Senior Director of Product for Virgin Entertainment Group for six years, where he oversaw the retail chain’s product purchasing, merchandising and promotion.
