Primary Wave strikes deal to represent Alice Cooper publishing rights | Music Business Worldwide

Primary Wave Music Publishing continues to make moves in 2018.

Barely a week on from buying a chunk of Bob Marley’s publishing catalogue (and Chris Blackwell’s Blue Mountain Songs), the private equity-backed US company has announced a deal with Alice Cooper.

The marketing and administration agreement will see Primary Wave represent Alice Cooper hits such as “School’s Out,” “I’m Eighteen,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” and “Poison.”

Primary Wave says it will work with the artist to not only market his music catalogue, but also his name and likeness.

Alice Cooper’s longtime manager Shep Gordon said: “We are very excited to be working with Primary Wave to gain more exposure for the Alice Cooper catalog of great songs….in a very short time we have already seen great things and are looking forward to many more years of great things together.”

Primary Wave Music Publishing, founded in 2006 has to date acquired the copyrights of over 15,000 songs from the catalogues of artists such as Smokey Robinson, Kurt Cobain, Steven Tyler, John Lennon, Def Leppard, Hall & Oates, Chicago, Maurice White, Glenn Gould, Daniel Johnston, Brenda Russell, Lamont Dozier, Steve Cropper, CeeLo Green, Larry Smith, Tom Cochrane, Holly Knight and others.Music Business Worldwide
