After Tom Corson… is Aaron Bay-Schuck next on Max Lousada’s hitlist? | Music Business Worldwide

The US entertainment business press is abuzz with news that RCA President and COO Tom Corson is leaving Sony for a big job at Warner Bros in California.

But that’s not the end of the story.

MBW understands that Max Lousada – who officially becomes Warner Music Group’s global recorded music head on October 1 – has yet more major moves to make.

Our sources tell us that Lousada is laser-focused on the idea of bringing Interscope Geffen A&M’s Aaron Bay-Schuck into Warner Bros to work alongside Corson at the top of the company.

We’re told that the British exec has been speaking to the highly respected Bay-Schuck for the best part of six months about the opportunity.

Interesting to note, of course, that Tom Corson worked alongside another A&R specialist, Peter Edge, to great effect at RCA.

Lousada is believed to be visiting WMG HQ in New York in the first half of this week – with Los Angeles next on his flight map.

You can bet your bottom dollar that a meeting with Bay-Schuck – IGA’s President of A&R – is etched into his diary.

Will Lousada be able to tempt the Universal exec across to his new Warner Bros empire?

Where does all of this leave current Warner Bros CEO and Chairman Cameron Strang?

Stay tuned as the executive soap opera continues…Music Business Worldwide
