Dan Waite named MD of Eleven Seven Label Group in Europe | Music Business Worldwide

Rock specialist Eleven Seven Label Group (E7LG) has named Dan Waite the new Managing Director of E7LG-Europe – as the company expands its presence in both the UK and Germany.

Waite was previously the Head of Talent for NME owner Time Inc in the UK. He will begin at E7LG  on July 3 out of the London-based UK office.

Eleven Seven Label Group was founded in 2006 by Tenth Street Entertainment CEO Allen Kovac. It is the global home for artists including Mötley Crüe, Papa Roach, Nothing More, Escape The Fate, Sixx:A.M., and HELLYEAH as well as Five Finger Death Punch outside of the U.S.

The company distributes two sub-labels – the indie-leaning Five Seven (Dirty Heads, ROMES, Bleeker, Nelly Furtado, Dark Waves, Nico Vega) and emerging hard rock-centric Better Noise Records (Nothing More, Deuce, From Ashes To New, Diamante, and As Lions).

“As Eleven Seven Label Group continues to build on its success as a globally dominant rock label, we are aggressively expanding into Alternative and Pop with Five Seven Music,” says E7LG COO Steve Kline. “With his experience and relationships, Dan is the ideal person to lead our efforts across Europe.”

Craig Swan has also joined Waite’s UK team as Digital Marketing Manager.

Meanwhile, E7LG has also expanded its offices to Berlin, with new hires, Victor Lang and Isabel Schwankl.

Lang has been appointed Marketing Manager/Five Seven Music and Schwankl Marketing Manager/Eleven Seven Music and Better Noise.

E7LG now has fully staffed offices in New York, Los Angeles, London and Berlin.

The label group’s UK and Berlin office staff will report into Waite, who will oversee all European operations including, marketing, distribution and strategy for E7LG.

“When Allen Kovac and Steve [Kline] ‎explained their vision for E7LG’s continued European expansion and how my agent, promoter, digital, publisher, broadcaster and talent contacts could compliment their strategy in Europe, it was an opportunity not to be missed,” says Waite.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with Allen & Steve on Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, Bleeker, Dirty Heads and their great roster of music acts.”
