Vivendi sponsors Cannes Lions | Music Business Worldwide


Universal parent Vivendi is the main sponsor of the two-day Lions Entertainment strand of the upcoming Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

The two-day conference takes place in Cannes, France on June 21-22 and Vivendi has returned as lead sponsor for a second year. 

On June 21, Sir Lucian Grainge, Universal Music Group Chairman & CEO, will be the first music exec to be honoured as Cannes Lions Media Person of the Year.

Throughout the conference, Vivendi – and its principal businesses UMG, Canal+ Group, Gameloft, Vivendi Village and Dailymotion – will showcase how content and talent can contribute value to the branded communications community.

Vivendi executives will make a number of appearances throughout Cannes Lions.

Lucien Boyer, Chief Marketing Officer of Vivendi, will give a keynote speech on how brands can collaborate in the creative process from an early stage, and explain the new opportunities for multiplatform storytelling.

Elsewhere, Sir William Sargent, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder of Framestore, will talk about his company’s partnership with Studiocanal on feature film Paddington.

In addition, Olivier Robert-Murphy, Global Head of New Business for Universal Music Group, is the President of the Lions Entertainment Music jury.

Universal will also be represented on stage with stars including Ellie Goulding, Nick Jonas and Lang Lang.
