Carpool Karaoke: The Series coming to Apple Music on August 8 | Music Business Worldwide

Apple Music will exclusively host Carpool Karaoke: The Series from Tuesday, August 8.

New episodes of the programme, a weekly spin-off from James Corden’s famous into segment on The Late, Late Show, will arrive on Apple Music every Tuesday.

In a press release, Apple said the show would ‘feature many of today’s biggest names in music, television, film, sports and pop culture buckling up and belting out their favorite songs’.

The big difference to its TV-aired cousin: James Corden won’t be the regular host.

Instead, a plethora of stars will be on rotation, sitting next to one another in the famous Carpool Karaoke front seat.

Corden, though, will appear in at least two skits. It’s expected that 16 shows will arrive on Apple Music in total.

Celebrity pairings confirmed to appear include Will Smith and James Corden; Miley, Noah, Billy Ray and the entire Cyrus family; Shakira and Trevor Noah; Game of Thrones stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams; Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith; John Legend, Alicia Keys (pictured) and Taraji P. Henson; LeBron James and James Corden; and many more.

Carpool Karaoke: The Series was originally slated to arrive on Apple Music in spring this year, but was delayed.

It’s being produced for Apple Music by CBS Television Studios and Fulwell 73.

James Corden and Ben Winston are credited as the creators and executive producers, along with executive producer Eric Pankowski.

Carpool Karaoke will continue to be a recurring segment on The Late Late Show with James Corden, which is broadcast Monday through Friday on the CBS Television Network.Music Business Worldwide
